Cody Rhodes is currently gearing up to face Kevin Owens at WWE Bash in Berlin. While the match seems quite straightforward at first glance, Hall of Famer Teddy Long thinks things may turn out to be much more surprising than anyone expects.
The American Nightmare’s return to WWE saw him rise quickly up the ranks, leading to him challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship and ultimately dethroning him. As of now, it seems quite certain that the promotion is pushing him as the face of the company, owing to his skills in both the ring and on the mic and the fans’ adoration for his babyface personality.
While it seems very unlikely, Hall of Famer Teddy Long thinks that Cody can turn heel as early as the upcoming Bash in Berlin Premium Live Event. On Sportskeeda’s The Wrestling Time Machine, host Mac Davis suggested The American Nightmare will probably retain his title and stay a babyface. Teddy Long, however, dismissed it.
“Listen, don’t ever say what they won’t do, okay? I am telling you. You have been proven wrong so many times. Just prepare yourself for it.” [5:00 onwards]

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long was not pleased with Kevin Owens’ recent comments
According to Teddy Long, Kevin Owens’ initial hesitant attitude towards accepting the title shot offered by Cody Rhodes was a massive mistake.
Speaking on the same episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Teddy Long explained that a title opportunity being passed up painted Kevin in the wrong light.
“That’s what the whole story goes you know what I mean? He feels like you know there are other people deserving. Well, in this business, you are not worried about what the other people deserve. If you get the opportunity to go for the World Championship then you go for it. You can’t worry about what somebody else needs to do so. That’s why I don’t understand, you know Kevin is saying stuff like that, it’s kinda belittling him you know. And he is a great wrestler I mean, certainly does real good in the ring.” [3:38 onwards]
As of now, only time will tell what Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes plan to do at WWE Bash in Berlin.
