Randy Orton recently opened up about potentially becoming a WWE Hall of Famer and revealed whom he would like to see induct him into the coveted club. The Viper mentioned none other than his legendary on-screen rival, John Cena.
Orton has been a mainstay in the Stamford-based promotion for over two decades now and has endeared himself to the fans as one of the most beloved performers. Randy Orton has had a storied career and continues to remain a featured player on TV. The WWE legend is gearing up to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at the upcoming Bash in Berlin 2024.
While he’s guaranteed a top spot in the Hall of Fame induction, Orton still has a lot left in the tank. In the recent episode of What Do You Want To Talk About with Cody Rhodes, The Viper revealed that he would like to only enter the Hall of Fame once he’s hung up his wrestling boots for good and has no intentions of returning.
Randy Orton then revealed that he would like his long-time friend and colleague John Cena to bestow him with the honor when the dust settles.

“I feel like if I’m lucky enough to be in the Hall of Fame, I would want it to be when things are settled and over. I feel like that’s how it has to come about. But as far as, gosh, I almost even don’t want to say because I feel like he’d hear this and then feel obligated, but maybe John [Cena].” (H/T Inside The Ropes)
Randy Orton wants a final hurrah with John Cena
Elsewhere in the same chat, Orton also discussed the impending retirement tour of John Cena that kicks off in 2025. Randy Orton stated that while Cena “shut down” the idea of another match between the two veterans, the former is still optimistic he would get to share the ring with the Hollywood megastar next year.
“When I brought it up to him, I felt kinda like a mark, like, ‘Hey, you wanna do one more?’ He shut it down right away and said, ‘If creative comes up with it, then we’ll do it,’ kinda thing.”
For now, The Viper is laser-focused at Bash in Berlin 2024, where he has the chance to become the World Champion for a staggering 15th time.
