Former WWE manager Jim Cornette recently spoke about Cody Rhodes’ title match at Bash in Berlin. The star is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens.
Last week on SmackDown, The American Nightmare offered a title shot to Owens. Although KO was hesitant at first, he agreed to the match when General Manager Nick Aldis claimed the opportunity would otherwise go to Roman Reigns. This exchange set up the marquee match for the upcoming premium live event.
This week on the Jim Cornette Experience, the veteran manager was surprised that Owens was chosen for the match with Cody Rhodes out of everyone. He felt the match was made suddenly without any build or story.
“All of a sudden, we’re talking about Cody can defend against this guy, that guy, and the other guy. Kevin Owens’ name didn’t come up. Kevin Owens and Cody for the title in Berlin for the title in Berlin. What the f*ck is going on?”

Cornette joked that Cody Rhodes probably felt he could pick up the win over KO when they crossed paths in Berlin.
Cody Rhodes came out to help Kevin Owens
This week on the blue brand, Kevin Owens was in a singles encounter with Grayson Waller.
The Prizefighter dominated the match and finally picked up the win with a Stunner followed by a Pop-Up Powerbomb. In the aftermath of the encounter, Austin Theory and Waller tried to mount a two-on-one attack on ko.
However, Cody Rhodes rushed in to make the save. The American Nightmare evened the odds with a couple of steel chairs and sent A-Town Down Under heading for the hills.
