Former German tennis player Tommy Haas and his longtime partner Sara Foster have called it quits on their nearly 20-year-old relationship. The news was made public on Wednesday, August 14, by the People magazine, citing a source close to the couple.
Haas and Foster met through mutual friends and reportedly began dating in 2004. Together, they welcomed two daughters, Valentina and Josephine. When quizzed about her relationship with Haas in an interview last year, Foster referred to them as “basically married,” despite never officially tying the knot. (via ‘We Met at Acme Podast’)
“We’ve been together since I’ve been 25 years old,” Foster was quoted as saying. “We have two kids. Our lives are completely intertwined and together.”
Now, in a surprising move, the pair have decided to part ways after nearly 20 years together. However, the aforementioned source mentioned that they will remain involved in co-parenting their two daughters.

Both Haas and Foster have maintained an active presence on social media but have yet to publicly address the reports of their separation. Neither party’s representatives have responded to inquiries about the split.
Haas, a retired German tennis pro, was particularly popular on tour for his powerful game and delicate net play. The 46-year-old competed at the highest level for over two decades, during which he achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 2 and won 15 ATP singles titles.
Some of his most impressive achievements include winning an Olympic silver medal in singles in 2000 and reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
Foster, meanwhile, is a well-known actress, perhaps most recognized for her roles as Jen Clark on 90210 and Nancy in the film The Big Bounce. She also happens to be the daughter of renowned music producer David Foster.
She also appeared on the VH1 reality series Barely Famous alongside her sister, Erin Foster. Together, they also founded the Favorite Daughter clothing line.
Tommy Haas and Sara Foster never shied away from calling each other out publicly
Over the years, Tommy Haas and his wife, Sara Foster, have hilariously taken jibes at each other on social media.
Back in February 2021, Foster called out Haas for liking multiple women’s photos online, especially ones with them clad in bikinis.
“Happy Valentine’s Day to the guy that hasn’t figured out yet that ‘likes’ are public. Love you @tommyhaasofficial,” she was quoted saying.
Haas famously hit back at her for liking a shirtless image of Tyler Cameron, a Bachelorette alumni.
“Happy Valentine’s day @sarafoster I promise i will go back to the gym,” Haas quipped.
While it is unclear exactly why they have split, these instances quite surely couldn’t have been the cause.
