10-time World Champion should return to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, feels ex-WWE writer (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo recently spoke about Roman Reigns’ potential WrestleMania 41 opponent. The Original Tribal Chief returned to WWE at SummerSlam 2024. Russo thinks 10-time World Champion The Rock should lock horns with Reigns at The Show of Shows.

Moments after making his comeback, Reigns speared Solo Sikoa, costing him the Undisputed WWE Title. Since then, he has been hunting down The Bloodline in a bid to reclaim his position at the Head of the Table.

This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW, Russo said Roman Reigns vs. The Rock would be the ideal direction for next year’s ‘Mania. He detailed that some fans would want to see The Final Boss go up against Cody Rhodes, but that wouldn’t be the best match for the show.

“Well, if you’re asking me, I would want to see [The] Rock and Roman. That’s just my personal taste, but I’m sure a lot of people would want to see [The] Rock and Cody.”

Russo further justified his opinion by pointing out that The American Nightmare hasn’t been in a compelling storyline since winning the Undisputed WWE Title.

“He’s got zero steam, zero, zero steam on him.” [From 4:45 onwards]

While an encounter with The Rock may be waiting down the road, Reigns now has to deal with the combined might of the new Bloodline. This past week on SmackDown, Reigns realized just how formidable the faction could be when Jacob Fatu single-handedly destroyed him in the ring.

The villainous group then hit a Triple Powerbomb on Roman Reigns and put him through the announcers table as the show went off the air.
