Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton might not have seen extensive playing time during his injury-plagued 2024 Paris Olympics stint with Team USA, but he and his girlfriend, Jade Jones, created many memorable moments in France, as recently highlighted in an Instagram post.
Jones accompanied Tyrese Haliburton throughout Team USA’s entire run in Paris, attending every game of the eventual gold medalists.
In her latest post, Jones shared photos of her experiences with Tyrese Haliburton in France, including a snapshot with Zac Efron, star of “High School Musical” and “The Greatest Showman.”
Haliburton played just 8.8 minutes per game across three contests during Team USA’s Olympic campaign, serving as the team’s 12th man and averaging 2.67 points, 0.67 assists, and 0.33 steals per game.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst later disclosed that Haliburton was managing a minor leg injury, which limited his playing time as he was placed under a minutes restriction. According to the insider, Haliburton underwent an MRI but the results were not disclosed to the public by Team USA.
Team USA went on to win all six of their games and secure the gold medal.
After winning gold in Paris, Tyrese Haliburton sets sights on NBA championship
Tyrese Haliburton recently returned to his hometown of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, following an eventful NBA season and a stint with Team USA at the Paris Olympics. Speaking with reporters, he emphasized the significance of being part of such a winning team.
“To be a part of that crew that I think is one of the greatest American basketball teams that we have ever put together – for me to be a part of that, I think it’s amazing,” Haliburton said (per NBC26). “It’s something that I’m going to look back on.
Looking ahead, Haliburton expressed his desire to bring a championship to Indiana.
“It would mean the world to win a championship and not just win a championship, win a championship in Indiana,” Haliburton said. “That’s the goal and just keep taking steps to get there.”
Last season, Haliburton led the Pacers through a notable playoff run, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks in six games and the New York Knicks in seven before falling to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals.
The Pacers lost Doug McDermott, Jalen Smith, Oscar Tshiebwe and Oscar Wong but brought in Dakota Mathias, Cole Swider and James Wiseman, as well as drafted rookies Johnny Furphy, Tristen Newton and Enrique Freeman.
Additionally, they re-signed key players Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard, Obi Toppin, James Johnson and Quenton Jackson.
