In over a week, British striking legend Liam Harrison will finally get his chance to square off against Seksan Or Kwanmuang – a fellow icon of the sport he holds in high regard.
They meet in a 140-pound catchweight Muay Thai fixture at ONE 168: Denver inside Ball Arena on September 6.
Before they throw down, the Bad Company man touched on his eagerness to fight the Thai legend, stressing that he, by no means, has any bad blood or ill-intentions toward ‘The Man Who Yields To No One.’
Speaking to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), Liam Harrison offered:
“I’ve wanted to fight him for ages, and not out of disrespect for him or hatred. It’s all love and admiration for one of my heroes. To be able to share the ring with him would be incredible.”
Moreover, as someone who’s faced the very best from different generations, the 38-year-old admits Seksan is the only legend missing from his list.
Before inking a deal with the world’s largest martial arts organization, ‘Hitman’ shared the ring with multi-time Lumpinee Stadium world champions Singdam Kiatmoo9, Sagetdao Petpayathai, Saenchai, and ‘The Iron Hands of Siam’ Anuwat Kaewsamrit.
Overall, the three-time Muay Thai world champion is 90-25-2 in his career, with almost 50 percent of his wins coming by knockouts.
