Gobert and Bonilla welcomed their son on May 7, 2024 during the Minnesota Timberwolves’ second-round series against the Denver Nuggets. He missed Game 2 of the series but the Timberwolves still won by 26 points.

Julia Bonilla’s life changed when she gave birth to her first child. Two weeks after Romeo’s birth, Bonnila penned a heartwarming message for her baby while posting snaps of her first few days as a mother.
“Romeo 🤍 you made me a mom and gave my life a whole new meaning,” Gobert’s girlfriend captioned in her Instagram post.
It has been a momentous five months for Gobert, who finished last season in the Western Conference finals before winning the silver medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics in front of their home crowd.
Gobert also won his fourth Defensive Player of the Year award this year, tied for most with Dikembe Mutombo and Ben Wallace. He has a chance to win a record fifth DPOY nod next season as he remains the Timberwolves’ defensive anchor.

Julia Bonilla has been vocal about how much Rudy Gobert means to him. She praised him for his hard work amid criticisms against him in the NBA world.

Gobert averages 12.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in his NBA career. While he still hasn’t won an NBA title, he has experienced success on the international stage by helping his national team win two straight Olympic silver medals.
