PICTURE: Novak Djokovic’s wife Jelena poses with kids Stefan & Tara, marvels at how “fast” they’ve grown as their shadows nearly match her height

Novak Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, recently showcased how much their children, Stefan and Tara, have grown through a photo that featured their shadows, nearly matching her height. Their son Stefan was born in October 2014, and their daughter Tara followed three years later, in 2017.

Djokovic’s family is always present in the stadium whenever he plays, and the Serb is fond of running toward them to celebrate whenever he wins a title. Jelena doesn’t only support the World No.2 in person but is also active on social media and frequently shows her support for her husband.

On Thursday, Jelena Djokovic posted a picture featuring the shadows of herself, with Stefan and Tara standing side by side. In the caption, she marveled at how fast they have grown up.

The Serb is currently competing for his fifth US Open title and 25th Grand Slam singles title. He entered the tournament on the back of winning the men’s singles Olympic gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Serb is currently through to the third round of the tournament, having defeated Radu Albot in the first round and Laslo Djere in the second.

In a recent interview with Forbes, Novak Djokovic stated that he had plans to bring his Olympic gold medal to a couple of events in New York but couldn’t because his kids hid it somewhere, causing him to panic.

“I forgot it because my kids hid it somewhere. So, then I was panicking because I had to take it. One night my daughter and one night my son sleeps with it. They have a couple of trophies in their rooms. I try to look at it [gold medal] once a day and say ‘hello,’ and say ‘thank you’ and get inspired for more,” he said.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Novak Djokovic achieved a milestone, that had eluded him throughout his career, by winning gold. In the same interview, he described his Olympic Games performance as the best tennis he has ever played and referred to the Olympics as the most important sporting event.

“When I won the semis in Paris [Olympics], I fell to the ground because I knew silver was guaranteed. But silver was never the final goal. I was going for gold. It was one of the best levels of tennis I had produced in years. It is just different. Olympic games are historically the most important sports event,” he added.

At Grand Slams this season, the Serb reached the semifinals of the Australian Open but was knocked out by eventual champion Jannik Sinner. At the French Open, he reached the quarterfinals but withdrew due to a knee injury that required surgery. He also reached the final of the Wimbledon Championships for the second consecutive season, facing the same opponent, Carlos Alcaraz, who emerged victorious.
