Tom Aspinall recently fired back at Jon Jones for his latest comments dissing the Englishman amidst the UFC heavyweight title picture debacle. Aspinall seemingly wasn’t happy about Jones dismissing his callouts and slammed the reigning UFC heavyweight champion for his past PED violations.
For context, Aspinall has turned up the heat on Jones over the past few weeks, since making the first defense of his interim belt at UFC 304. The Englishman has relentlessly called out ‘Bones’ on social media for an undisputed heavyweight title fight. However, Jones hasn’t given Aspinall’s callouts much attention and has clarified that he’s focused on fighting Stipe Miocic next.
Moreover, even the UFC and Dana White have made it clear that Miocic will be next in line for Jones, throwing Aspinall’s title unification plans for a toss. Given Aspinall’s impressive performances in his last few outings, many began speculating that Jones may be trying to avoid facing the Englishman.
During a recent interview, Aspinall doubled down on the narrative that Jones was avoiding him and named him as the biggest “fight dodger” in the UFC. Jones wasn’t happy about Aspinall’s choice of words and brutally slammed him in the comments section of an Instagram post showing a clip from the interview. In a now-deleted comment, he wrote:
“This dude literally has my large black c**k in his mouth every week. I’m flattered. I absolutely guarantee he will not win more world championships than me. That’s truly all that matters at the end of the day. There’s been many champions, no one like me. I sleep good at night.”
Not one to back down, Aspinall responded to Jones’ comment and brought up the UFC icon’s previous steroid violations. He wrote:
“Jon’s right, he’s won so many more world championships than me… While using PEDs.”
Daniel Cormier believes Tom Aspinall’s trash-talking is getting under Jon Jones’ skin
Daniel Cormier recently reacted to Tom Aspinall focusing all his attention on trolling Jon Jones on social media and believes the Englishman’s trash-talking may have started getting under the UFC heavyweight champ’s skin.
In a video uploaded to YouTube, Cormier addressed Jones’ explicit response to Aspinall and assured fans that ‘Bones’ was finally feeling the pressure.
Pointing out that he went through a similar situation, ‘DC’ said:
“Nobody else can tell you this at this level because I lived it. I know what the insults look like when you start getting to him. I’m telling you guys right now he’s starting to get to him, he’s starting to get to Jon Jones, and when you get to him, that’s when you possibly get the fight.”
