Damian Lillard’s ex-wife Kay’la Lillard drops emotional reaction to son Damian Jr. entering 1st grade

Milwaukee Bucks starĀ Damian Lillard’s ex-wife Kay’la Lillard dropped an emotional reaction to their firstborn son, Damian Jr., entering first grade. Kay’la took to Instagram to share a snap of the six-year-old and coupled it with a proud caption.

“šŸ˜ my 1st grader ā¤ļø” Kay’la captioned her IG story.

Damian Lillard has three children with his ex-wife Kay’la. They welcomed Damian Jr. in 2018 before welcoming their twin son and daughter, Kalii and Kali respectively, in 2021.

In a recent interview with SLAM, the eight-time NBA All-Star elaborated on the motivation he gets from being a dad.

“I get a lot of motivation from being a dad,” LillardĀ said. “There are mornings where I gotta workout at 6:30 and I’ll get my kids up and bring them in here … They’ll sit over there while I work out because I want them to be able to see, like, this didn’t come out of nowhere.”

Lillard also explained that he wants to set an example for his kids and cited that as further motivation.

“And the motivation comes in where, if I’m being criticized, or if I’m struggling, or if something makes me uncomfortable, I think about my kids when I’m having to respond to those types of situations … Whatever the situation is, I’ll be the example for my kids and my nieces and nephews.” Lillard closed his answer by stating, “I get a lot of motivation from the opportunities to show [how you represent yourself] even when it’s a tough or a bad situation.”

Damian Lillard will begin his 13thĀ NBAĀ season with the start of the 2024-25 season this month. The seven-time All-NBA player averaged 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game last season.
