Former Toronto Raptors coach Sam Mitchell and Chris Miles hosted NBA TV’s Friday coverage of the game between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors. They had superb chemistry and went back and forth about the game. Things went sideways when the issue about Dubs coach Steve Kerr not getting an Olympic gold medal came up.
Mitchell claimed international basketball does not value coaches. Miles took a dig at the former NBA coach when he said that he was surprised his co-host was not taking his job pro bono.
Sam Mitchell replied:
“Last time I looked at my check, it’s pretty closed. So, hey, I’m taking donations. Why don’t you come up on some of that money you got since you’re over there bragging about it?”
Chris Miles laughed while refuting Mitchell. The former Minnesota Timberwolves star kept going:
“I’m sorry, did you rip your beach house down at Florida during the hurricane? How about your townhouse over at Buckhead? You wanna call me out? I mean, come on! … I know what you have and where you live young fellow. … You gonna stop messing with me on national TV. Hey, do I need to give out the address cause you’re not at home right now?”
Besides NBA TV, Mitchell has worked as an analyst for TSN and SiriusXM NBA Radio. What he earns from his job after playing and coaching basketball is undisclosed.
