WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella of The Bella Twins has been dealing with a personal crisis for a while. Recently, Artem Chigvintsev debunked a rumor about his alleged desire to reconcile with Nikki.
A few months ago, Nikki Garcia (aka Nikki Bella) filed a domestic violence case against Artem Chigvintsev, leading to his arrest. The legal battle continued for a while, and the court recently gave its verdict on the custody of the former couple’s son.
Recent reports suggested that Artem Chigvintsev wanted to reconcile with Nikki. However, the 42-year-old recently debunked those rumors. According to People, Artem’s attorney stated that the Russian professional dancer hadn’t contacted Nikki since October 2024
Artem secured a legal win over the WWE Hall of Famer, as the judge granted joint custody of Matteo to the former couple. Both parties will take therapy sessions before their divorce trial in December 2024. Nikki’s claim of Artem’s anger issues was also denied, as the court didn’t order any anger management sessions for the professional dancer.
WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella claims Artem Chigvintsev’s career change affected him
Nikki Bella appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2017. This was where she met Artem Chigvintsev for the first time. The two eventually became a couple, tied the knot, and welcomed their son, Matteo, to the world. However, they went through a lot behind the scenes and are now separated.
According to Nikki’s recent filing against Artem, the 42-year-old became aggressive after he was forced to pursue a career in the construction business.
The WWE Hall of Famer further claimed Artem Chigvintsev felt the job was beneath him, which affected their relationship. Artem was cut from Dancing with the Stars before the start of the latest season.
“He had begun work at a construction job and felt it was beneath him (…) Since being cut from Dancing with the Stars, Artem had been growing increasingly angry, snapping at me, and yelling. We had discussions about his need to control his anger,” Nikki said in her official filing.
Nikki and Artem’s divorce trial is set for December 2024. It remains to be seen whether the case witnesses any twists in the coming months.
