I thought we were friends Megan!?” – Coco Gauff sheds light on hilarious Halloween incident during “Horror Nights” visit to Universal Studios

Coco Gauff recently shared a hilarious Halloween incident she experienced during Horror Nights at Universal Studios. Gauff has been enjoying her off time before her departure to Saudi Arabia for the 2024 WTA Finals, slated from November 2 to November 9.

Gauff is known for her Halloween costumes, often dressing up as various characters. In 2023, she took on the roles of Freddy Krueger, the villain from Nightmare on Elm Street and a spooky clown. She embraced the Halloween spirit as she dressed up as ‘Moon Knight’ in 2022.

This year, she spent her time during the Halloween season at Universal Studios. The American tennis star shared a glimpse of a hilarious experience she encountered there, featuring a character dressed as Megan, the artificially intelligent doll from the 2023 sci-fi horror film ‘M3GAN’.

In a video shared on her Instagram story, the Halloween character dressed as ‘Megan’ initially invited her closer with a heart gesture, but then switched up their behavior as she approached, similar to the character in the movie. She posted this hilarious incident, captioning it:

“Why she switch up on me like that? like I thought we were friends Megan!?”

She also offered glimpses of herself sporting jeans with a skull-shaped design and expressed excitement about how the ‘spooky’ season is the best time of the year.

Coco Gauff reveals Halloween as her favorite day of the year

Coco Gauff once opened up about Halloween being her favorite day of the year, bigger than her birthday and Christmas. On the HEAD Tennis, she spoke about Halloween, saying (starting at 1:06 onwards):

“I just love dressing up. Halloween’s my favorite day of the year, like bigger than my birthday, bigger than Christmas. I’m always going to dress up, you know, no matter how old I am. Most of the times I don’t even go anywhere in the costume. I just take pictures or just like you know chill in it but I just love it. I think it’s, you can pretend to be your favorite character for a day.”

She added:

“I remember I was like not even professional at that point, but Tennis Channel like put me in there voted me like second or third in their best Halloween costumes and I was like, ‘Okay, now I have to bring it every year.’”

The eight-time WTA Tour singles winner also revealed that she has liked costumes since her childhood during the interview.
