Belal Muhammad recently expressed his enthusiasm for the Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Ian Machado Garry matchup at UFC 310, praising the fight as a logical step in the welterweight division. Why the Rakhmonov vs. Garry Fight Makes Sense

In a recent episode of the Anik & Florian Podcast, Muhammad shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight:

  • He believes that the fight between Rakhmonov and Garry makes a lot of sense for the division.

“It makes more sense than Buckley and Ian Garry. I think Shavkat and Ian Garry, both undefeated, both guys are right there at the top, and they both called each other out before…”

  • Muhammad emphasized the significance of the fighters’ undefeated records, noting how that would add intensity and excitement to the contest.

“Both undefeated… I’m excited to see how it goes.”

Belal Muhammad’s Injury Update

Regarding his own health, Muhammad provided a positive update on his recovery from the foot injury that forced him to withdraw from UFC 310. He had been battling a bone infection in his left foot, but after several weeks of recovery, he shared encouraging news:

  • Muhammad was cleared by his doctor, stating that his toe looked good and the wound was fully closed.

“The wound is fully closed, so I started jogging on it. The only thing is that I got 10 days left of the antibiotics.”

  • Muhammad also mentioned that he would have his PICC line removed on Dec. 1, signaling the final stages of his recovery.

“We’re all systems go. Now I can see the finish line. It feels so good.”

Looking Ahead

As the welterweight division continues to shift, Muhammad is eager to return to action. Meanwhile, the UFC 310 title eliminator between Rakhmonov and Garry will be a key fight in determining who will challenge for the welterweight championship next.
