Nikola Jokic made headlines on Monday with the launch of his first signature shoe, the “JOKER 1,” in partnership with the Chinese brand 361 Degrees. The shoe, designed with unique features tailored for the reigning NBA Finals MVP, includes a pocket on the tongue for players to store items like wedding rings safely while on the court—a thoughtful touch inspired by Jokic’s own experiences.
Jokic’s Hilarious Wedding Ring Story
At the launch event, Jokic shared a humorous anecdote about why this feature was included. He admitted to losing not one but two wedding rings during games. His wife, Natalija, understanding the challenges of his profession, replaced the first ring only for him to lose the second as well.
“Funny story. I lost my ring, and my wife gave me another ring. And I lost that too,” Jokic revealed with a laugh. Despite the new shoe’s pocket, the Serbian star joked that he might not rely on it, showcasing his relaxed approach to life both on and off the court.
The Jokic Family
Jokic and Natalija, who were high school sweethearts in Sombor, Serbia, tied the knot on October 24, 2020. They now reside in Denver with their two children, daughter Ognjena and son.
“JOKER 1” Launch and Availability
The “JOKER 1” will officially debut on Dec. 7 in Serbia, followed by launches in Chengdu, China (Dec. 14), and Hangzhou, China (Dec. 21). The shoe will be available worldwide in all 361 Degrees stores by late December, offering fans a chance to own a piece of Jokic-inspired gear.
Jokic’s Historic Triple-Double Performance
On Sunday, Jokic recorded his 138th career triple-double in a narrow 126-122 loss to the LA Clippers. With 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, he tied Magic Johnson for the third-most triple-doubles in NBA history. Jokic now trails only Oscar Robertson (181) and teammate Russell Westbrook (200). At 29, Jokic is poised to continue climbing the rankings, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest all-around players in NBA history.
The Denver Nuggets are next set to face the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday in their final group game of the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup. Fans will be eager to see how Jokic and the Nuggets perform as they look to bounce back from the loss.
