Barcelona prioritizes the 23-year-old attacker over Rafael Leao in order to bolster their left wing position: Reports

Barcelona are reportedly prioritizing Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia over AC Milan’s Rafael Leao as they look to bolster their left-wing position. The Catalan club believes Kvaratskhelia, 23, better suits their possession-based style of play and is a more affordable option compared to Leao, whose salary is significantly higher. Kvaratskhelia, who joined Napoli in 2022 and helped the club win Serie A in his debut season, has been a standout player for the team, contributing five goals and three assists in 16 games this season.

On the other hand, Leao, 25, has been a key player for AC Milan since 2019, with 62 goals and 55 assists in 227 appearances. Despite his success at Milan, Barcelona sees Kvaratskhelia as a better fit for their current needs, especially given his lower salary, making him a more feasible option amidst Barcelona’s financial constraints.

Additionally, Barcelona have entered the race for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush, joining Liverpool and other European clubs in pursuit of the versatile Egyptian attacker. Marmoush has been in impressive form this season, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists in 19 appearances. The 25-year-old’s standout performances have attracted significant interest, with Barcelona reportedly viewing him as a potential long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. Marmoush is valued at £60 million by Frankfurt.
