Nico Cornejo believes his endless gas tank will be pivotal against teen phenom Adrian Lee: “One of my biggest attributes”

ONE Championship has a handful of blue-chip MMA prospects and lightweight MMA competitor Adrian Lee is among them. The youngest member of the famed Lee family will compete at ONE 168: Denver on September 6 inside the Ball Arena.

His opponent, knockout artist Nico Cornejo, recently sat down with MMA UK and outlined his keys to victory, saying:

“I’m known for my constant pressure and my [gas] tank. I have, not to blow my own horn here, but I feel I have the best cardio ever. Especially in Denver, Colorado, I think this is one of my biggest attributes.”

It is interesting that ‘The Steel City Kid’ pointed out that their lightweight MMA bout will take place in The Mile High City because the thin air could affect their stamina, which might turn their battle into a war of attrition.

However, Lee had already shown that he would be ready for anything that happens, as evidenced by his stellar performance in his promotional debut this past June when he submitted Australian upstart Antonio Mammarella with a rear-naked choke.

Adrian Lee credits MMA for the person that he is today

Adrian Lee is already viewed as a future megastar by many ONE Championship fans. While others would struggle to perform under such expectations, ‘The Phenom’ is prepared to carry such a weight.

Speaking with ONE Championship, Lee stated:

“I think that the maturity that MMA brings me definitely has helped evolve and shape me as a person and definitely helps me have an open mind and understand things better.”
