What’s next for Cristiano Ronaldo in the new season?
Cristiano Ronaldo marked his return to action for the 2024-25 season in style. The 39-year-old scored and provided an assist in Al-Nassr’s 2-0 victory over Al-Taawoun in the Saudi Super Cup semifinal on August 14.
Despite not partaking in pre-season friendlies with the squad, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner looked sharp and ready. He assisted his side’s first goal in the first half, before doubling the lead in the 57th minute with a well-taken strike in the box.
He celebrated by hitting his iconic Siu celebration as he scored his first goal of the new season. The strike also meant that the Portuguese ace has now scored in 23 consecutive seasons since making his professional debut with Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo will look to find the net once more when Al-Nassr face rivals Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup final on Saturday, August 17. Last term, Al-Hilal beat Al-Nassr to the league and Kings Cup, thus the Knights of Najd’s will be out for revenge.
