Former UFC fighter Jake Shields has weighed in on Donald Trump’s recent controversial comments, which have seen the US presidential candidate discuss the power and influence of Israel on American politics.
Whilst deep into his campaign trail, Trump appeared in New Jersey this week for an event about combating antisemitism in the United States. Whilst giving his speech, the 78-year-old made several remarks regarding Israel, including stating that they would have his full support on the conflict happening in Gaza.
Trump then moved on to Israel’s influence in the US, where he expressed his disappointment that Israeli and Jewish people’s lobbying power is no longer the same in politics.
Courtesy of @KassyAkiva on X, Trump said:
“15 years ago, if you said anything bad about Israel or the Jewish people, you were finished as a politician — the most powerful lobby in this country by far, was Israel and Jewish people.”
Trump’s comments then appeared to strike a nerve with Jake Shields, as the former UFC fighter responded to the above clip of the US presidential candidate.
Shields, who in recent weeks has stated that he is no longer a supporter of Donald Trump, pulled no punches in his response as he labeled the comments “embarrassing.” He then suggested a NSFW act the 78-year-old should do at his next rally. He tweeted:
“It would be less embarrassing if Trump got down on his knees and blew a Rabbi live on television.”
UFC commentator Joe Rogan calls out US media for painting Donald Trump as a villain
Joe Rogan has admitted he believes the US media has painted Donald Trump as a villain, after Kamala Harris joined the presidential race following Joe Biden’s withdrawal. The 57-year-old thinks Trump is being purposefully portrayed in a sinister way.
Speaking on episode #2188 of the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), the UFC color commentator said:
“The media are saying, ‘He’s old, she’s young!’ Have you f*cking seen her mistakes? This is crazy! This gaslighting is nuts. It’s the same gaslighting they did to turn Trump into a monster and it’s the same gaslighting they’re doing to turn her [Kamala Harris] into our future. Our hope. And it’s working. It’s crazy to watch.”
