Watch: LeBron James spotted grooving to Drake’s hit track in Cannes with Draymond Green

When LeBron James and Draymond Green are on the court, they put on some of the most competitive displays of basketball action in the NBA. However, when they’re off the court? They consider each other great friends, which was evident when the two athletes were spotted having a good time in Cannes with Drake’s “God’s Plan” playing in the background.

Fresh from delivering another gold medal for the USA Basketball Men’s Olympic Team, the Lakers star looked to be making the most out of his remaining offseason before the new season commences.

The venue looked packed with LeBron James and Draymond Green getting the crowd involved in the energy of certain songs. LeBron, who was wearing a bucket hat and unbuttoned shirt, was vibing to the song while mouthing the lyrics. Draymond was doing the same by his side.

Draymond Green talked about his friendship with LeBron James

Watching Draymond Green for the first time may give some basketball fans the impression that he hates every player not wearing a Warriors jersey. While that is factual due to how competitive he plays the game of basketball, he is a different person off the court.

Fans noticed this when it comes to his friendship with LeBron James. The two have faced one another four times in the NBA Finals. During that rivalry era, Green’s Warriors got the better of James’ Cavs, 3-1.

However, the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year highlighted his growth as a player and a person over the years, as well as his relationship with LeBron. He shared his comments in an interview with Paul George on the July 5, 2023 episode of “Podcast P.”

That’s my big brother … ain’t nothing changing that,” Green said. “… the only thing changing is our relationship continues to grow. … At the end of the day, I’m trying to win these basketball games. … If you stand in the way of that, you stand in the way of that. … to this day, I’ll still take LeBron’s head off … but like there’s a respect and a love that’s there …”

Green isn’t paying much attention to what some fans and analysts portray as “fake competition” due to how friendly they are to one another when they’re not battling it out on the basketball court.

Regardless of how competitive he gets whenever he goes up against the likes of LeBron James, the Warriors forward highlighted that it’s just basketball at the end of the day. The passion and dedication to each other’s craft remain intact while making sure that the bond formed outside of basketball is not jeopardized.
