Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion ‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom understands the importance of having people he can trust in his corner. Fortunately for him, longtime coach Christian Knowles is a trusted voice in all of Haggerty’s fights.
Knowles, who has guided ‘The General’ throughout his rise in the world’s largest martial arts organization, is a constant motivating fixture in Haggerty’s camp. One great example came during the two-sport champ’s February 2022 showdown with Thai dynamo Mongkolpetch.
ONE Championship recently posted a short clip of Haggerty blasting Mongkolpetch with fiery combinations. And as heard in the background, Knowles was cheering his ward on.
Today, Haggerty is considered one of the most exciting fighters in the world and is a two-sport ONE world champion, holding both the Muay Thai and kickboxing belts at bantamweight.
‘The General’ often gives credit to Knowles for helping him reach these great heights in his career.
Needless to say, this fighter-coach tandem has produced many world titles now at the highest level, and they continue to forge their partnership in every fight.
Catch Haggerty and Knowles back in action in just a few weeks’ time as they defend the gold.
