CM Punk’s segment with Drew McIntyre on WWE RAW last night did not receive the response many would have hoped for. However, wrestling veteran Vince Russo believes that the Best in the World would still not question the direction of his booking because he’s simply afraid to burn bridges.
CM Punk has been embroiled in a feud over the last several months. While the rivalry started hot, the duo fought over a bracelet in the last few weeks. The recent change in booking direction has not been well-received by many fans and critics.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW, Vince Russo stated that the promo battle between the two was “as flat as flat can get.”
“That was as flat as flat can get… Again, guys, I have been in these situations. If this is a McMahon-Austin promo, Austin is gonna say to me when I present it to him, ‘Vince, isn’t that flat?’ That’s what he’s going to say to me… Punk doesn’t know this segment is flat? He’s been doing this for how long?”

The former WWE head writer also noted that CM Punk is afraid to call out the booking because he does not want to be at odds with the management.
“Yes, 1000% percent [Punk not speaking against the booking because he doesn’t want to burn any bridges]. He’s getting a beautiful cheque, bro, and he’s not gonna upset anybody, bro… He’s not gonna go work in Japan. Those days are over.”
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will face off in a Strap Match at WWE Bash in Berlin. The duo are also rumored to clash inside Hell in a Cell.
