In Pictures: John McEnroe’s daughter Anna gets married; sister Emily shares rare glimpses of the family together

John McEnroe’s daughter, Anna McEnroe, recently got married, and a few glimpses from the celebration were shared by the bride’s sister, Emily McEnroe. Before his daughter’s wedding, the former tennis player captained the two-time defending champions Team World for one last time at the Laver Cup.

Days ahead of the ceremony, the former World No.1 was in Berlin and faced an unfortunate loss at the Laver Cup. However, after this loss, he stepped down from the tournament after seven years of delivering a legacy.

Day 3 of the tournament started with John McEnroe’s team with an 8-4 lead over Team Europe; however, Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz lost their doubles match against Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud and their singles matches against Alexander Zverev and Alcaraz, allowing the Laver Cup trophy to slip.

Days after this, the player was seen at her daughter, Anna’s wedding on 5 October 2024, who got married to the love of her life, Brian Kerrigan. The wedding pictures were shared by another daughter, Emily McEnroe, who took to her Instagram stories and uploaded a bunch of pictures, where the family was seen posing with each other.

Some pictures were from the wedding ceremony, where the bride was seen in a magnificent white dress and her sister posing with a glass. Emily wrote:

“I love you my sis @annamcenroe.”

She also shared multiple pictures from the party in the evening after the wedding ceremony.

John McEnroe made a promise to his daughter Anna after the Laver Cup loss

After the loss at the Laver Cup and the end of his role at the tournament, John McEnroe made an amusing promise to her daughter, not to lose at her wedding in the presentation ceremony after the match. Giving a shout-out to her, the former World No.1 said:

“To my daughter Anna, I’m coming home. You’re getting married in two weeks. I hope you’re watching. We’re gonna win that one,” said John.

Along with this, he also showcased gratitude towards Captain Bjorn Borg and his brother, who is also the vice-captain of Team World, Patrick McEnroe. He also lauded his team’s spirit and their exceptional play. He said:

“Everyone knows Rod Laver was my idol, so this was the easiest job offer I ever had to accept. It’s been an absolute blast. Special thanks to my rival Bjorn Borg, I love you, man. Thank you. My right hand man, he takes care of me all the time, my brother Patrick McEnroe. And all the guys on the team this year, you got some great team spirit, we played hard, I expect some big things from you guys in the future, loved every minute of it.”
