LA Lakers superstar LeBron James recently faced a frightening experience with a scorpion in Phoenix, Arizona. It was an episode that he said scared the living daylights out of him.
“The King” recounted in an Instagram story his shower ordeal, where a scorpion appeared and almost bit him. He posted a video of the creature and captioned it:
“[A scorpion] tried to really get me when I got out of the [shower]! Luckily I was walking with my head down and saw him creeping! Welcome to Arizona.”
LeBron James is in Phoenix for the Lakers’ preseason game against the Suns on Thursday. It will be the teams’ second encounter in the preparatory phase before plunging into regular season play. Phoenix won in their first encounter on Sunday, 118-114.
James has played in three preseason games for the Lakers so far, tallying averages of 12 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 19 minutes per game.
Following their game against the Suns, the Lakers will wrap up their preseason campaign against the Golden State Warriors on Friday, also on the road.
LeBron James says he feels good entering 22nd NBA season
LeBron James said he feels good entering his 22nd season in the NBA and underscored that nothing is stopping him from trying to make another eventful run.
The 39-year-old LA Lakers superstar shared this during Media Day earlier this month, speaking about how he was in good condition and looking forward to helping his team in its campaign.
James said (via ESPN):
“I feel damn good. I had a great summer. So I feel really good physically. Mentally, I feel really good. really sharp. Very fresh. Looking forward to getting to work.”
LeBron James played in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games this summer, helping Team USA win the gold medal while being adjudged as the tournament MVP.
In the about-to-start NBA season, “The King” has added inspiration as he is set to compete alongside his eldest child Bronny, 20, who the Lakers selected in the second round of this year’s NBA Draft.
Last season, the older James played and started in 71 games, averaging 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 35 minutes per contest. Along the way, he helped the Lakers bag the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament title.
“It felt great to play meaningful basketball. To go out there at my age, the miles that I have, and to be able to play at the level I played at, it gave me even more of a sense of, ‘OK, I do have a lot in the tank. A lot.”
The Lakers get their 2024-25 NBA season campaign going on Oct. 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home.
