Juventus astonishingly announced the signing of Real Madrid star Arda Guler before it was revealed that the club’s social media account was hacked. Fans have now reacted to this whirlwind of events.
Juventus posted a picture of Guler walking on an airport runway on their official English X account along with a caption that read:
“Welcome to Juventus, Arda Guler! The rising star of football is now part of the #Juventus family! Ready to make history together on this new journey? #WelcomeArda #ForzaJuve.”
This left fans baffled as the Turkish attacker joined Real Madrid only last year from Fenerbahce and his contract with the club expires in 2029. There were no links with the Italian giants reported prior and any potential move could take place only in the January transfer window unless the contract is canceled.
Juventus then revealed from their Italian X account that their English account had been hacked.
“Our Juventus English account has been compromised. Please ignore the false information being published on this account. We are working on the issue.”
Fans have now reacted to the club’s account being compromised.
“Their dream was our reality,” a fan wrote.
Here are the rest of their reactions:
“One barca fan will be behind this 😭😭😂,” claimed one fan.
“We know Real Madrid ain’t selling for anything,” another commented.
“THANK F*** I ALMOST COLLAPSED,” one supporter exclaimed.
Real Madrid will next face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night (22 October).
National team manager heaps praise on Real Madrid star Arda Guler
Montenegro national team manager Robert Prosinecki has lavished praise on Arda Guler, hailing the 19-year-old’s potential.
Since his arrival at the Bernabeu last year, Guler has represented Los Blancos just 22 times in all competitions, contributing six goals. The young attacker has failed to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI and get regular minutes on the pitch.
While restricting himself from advising the Real Madrid boss to play Guler more, Prosinecki insists that the Turkey international will eventually become an established figure.
The Croatian said (via Madrid Universal):
“Arda Guler has great potential. I don’t know if Carlo Ancelotti will give him more opportunities to have the minutes he would like. I can’t say anything about Ancelotti’s decisions; but from my point of view, Arda will get better every day, he will have many more minutes step by step.”
Guler impressed for Turkey at the 2024 European Championships, helping them reach the quarter-finals. He started four of his side’s fixtures, scoring a goal and providing two assists.
