Jackie Buntan, the newly crowned ONE women’s strawweight kickboxing world champion, achieved a major milestone by defeating kickboxing legend Anissa Meksen at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug. Buntan won by a five-round unanimous decision, capturing the inaugural title at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Despite feeling nervous before the fight, Buntan credits her mental preparation for helping her rise to the occasion.
Looking ahead, Buntan is eager to defend her kickboxing title while also eyeing the Muay Thai world title. She expressed her desire to hold both belts, especially since the ONE women’s strawweight Muay Thai title is currently vacant after Smilla Sundell lost it earlier this year.
Stay updated on Buntan’s journey as she continues to aim for dual championships in both kickboxing and Muay Thai .
