Due to Barcelona’s decision, Arsenal and Manchester United suffer a significant setback in their chase of Viktor Gyokeres: Reports

Viktor Gyokeres, the 23-year-old forward for Sporting CP, has reportedly turned down offers from both Arsenal and Manchester United, with a preference for a move to Barcelona. The Sweden international is having a standout season, with 24 goals and 4 assists in just 19 games across all competitions, including a memorable hat-trick against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing Gyokeres as a future successor to Robert Lewandowski, who is approaching the twilight of his career. Gyokeres, a long-time admirer of the Catalan giants, is reportedly waiting for an offer from Barcelona and views joining them as a dream move. His market value is estimated at €70 million, making him a significant investment for any club.

In case Barcelona are unable to secure a deal for Gyokeres, they are also considering Jonathan David, the Lille forward. David, who is in the final months of his contract with the French club, has been in excellent form this season, with 13 goals and 2 assists in 20 appearances. With Gyokeres potentially commanding a hefty fee, David could serve as a more affordable alternative for Barcelona.
