Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Manchester United, is reportedly targeting Wolverhampton Wanderers’ left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri as part of his plans to strengthen the squad, especially considering the injury-prone nature of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. With United currently sitting in 12th place in the Premier League, a new left-back is a priority for the club in the upcoming transfer windows.
Ait-Nouri, who joined Wolves from Angers in 2021 for around £10 million, has impressed with his consistent performances. The 22-year-old Algerian has contributed 10 goals and 10 assists in 129 appearances for the club. However, Manchester United will face competition from Liverpool, who are also reportedly interested in the defender. Ait-Nouri is currently on a £33,000-per-week contract at Wolves, making him an attractive option for potential suitors.
Alongside Ait-Nouri, Manchester United is also reportedly eyeing Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt as a forward target. Marmoush, a teammate of Mohamed Salah with Egypt, has been in excellent form, with 14 goals and 10 assists in 17 games for Frankfurt this season. However, Frankfurt is expected to demand a significant fee for the player, who has a contract until 2027.
Both Ait-Nouri and Marmoush are seen as potential reinforcements as Amorim looks to improve his squad, and United’s pursuit of these players could heat up in January.
