Joshua already knows how to fight Jarred” – Stephen Loman says strawweight MMA throne is secure with teammate Joshua Pacio

Second-ranked ONE Championship bantamweight MMA contender ‘The Sniper’ Stephen Loman of the Philippines is confident his Lions Nation MMA teammate, ONE strawweight MMA world champion ‘The Passion’ Joshua Pacio will continue his reign at the top of the division in dominant fashion.

Pacio is a multi-time strawweight MMA world titleholder, and has proven to be one of the winningest world champions in ONE.

But the 28-year-old Baguio City native is currently embroiled in an intense rivalry with interim strawweight MMA king ‘The Monkey God’ Jarred Brooks that has lasted for the greater part of the last three years.

Still, Loman believes Pacio already knows how to deal with Brooks, particularly the American’s vaunted wrestling. And when the two meet again in the near future to unify the belts, ‘The Sniper’ is confident Pacio will emerge victorious.

Loman told Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview:

“I think Joshua already knows how to fight Jarred. Jarred will stop at nothing to take you down to the mat, try to get your back, try to get a leg. I think that was the mistake Joshua made in the first fight, he allowed Jarred a bit too much space to grapple.”

Stephen Loman says Joshua Pacio recovery going smoothly: “He’s been doing well”

Strawweight MMA king ‘The Passion’ Joshua Pacio was last seen getting spiked on his head by ‘The Monkey God’ Jarred Brooks at ONE 166: Qatar earlier this year.

After reclaiming the strawweight MMA crown by disqualification, Pacio ran into even more bad luck, injuring his knee by way of a torn ACL in training.

The 28-year-old Lions Nation MMA co-founder is currently nursing that injury, and Loman says his teammate is doing just fine.

He told Sportskeeda MMA:

“He’s in rehab in Manila, so every day he does these different exercises. I watch his videos regularly, he’s been doing well, and there are so many exercises that he does every day.”
