LeBron James’ friend reacts to Drake rekindling ’round 2′ beef with Kendrick Lamar

Aside from the basketball world, LeBron James has a lot of ties to the music industry as well. One of his friends in that space opened up on a growing storyline in hip-hop.

Earlier this summer, Drake and Kendrick Lamar released a series of diss tracks aimed at one another. That went on for some time, and some are starting to believe it’s going to ramp up again.

Speculation about this feud reemerging began when Drake started releasing new music. Fans further went into a spiral when he posted a story on his “finsta” (fake Instagram) of an old Rasheed Wallace interview where he talked about winning Game Two against the Indiana Pacers in 2004.

As chatter of Drake and Kendrick Lamar going at it again continues to grow, a close friend of LeBron James chimed in with his thoughts. “Cuffs the Legend” made a post on X (formerly Twitter) about Drake winning the feud this time around. made it clear which side of this beef he’s on with an earlier post made over the weekend. After seeing DJ Akademiks hype up Drake’s songs about Kendrick, he re-shared it and agreed with the statement.

LeBron James is connected to both sides of the Drake/Kendrick Lamar feud

When Drake and Kendrick Lamar first sparked their beef, countless people chimed in with their thoughts on whose diss tracks were better. Many assumed LeBron James would end up siding with Drake, but that didn’t seem to be the case.

As an NBA superfan, Drake and LeBron would end up becoming good friends. The two were constantly spotted together, and he even brought the LA Lakers star on stage during one of his concerts.

Despite being good friends, some of LeBron James’ actions earlier this summer indicate he might be on Team Kendrick Lamar. During Lamar’s packed-out concert on Juneteenth, the LA Lakers forward was seen dancing along to “Not Like Us.”

When this feud first began, LeBron did take to social media to share his thoughts. However, he opted to remain impartial at the time. Instead of picking a side, he touched on how good it is for hip-hop to have two high-level artists exchange blows.

“Nothing like 2 heavyweights doing What They Do Best! For the love off of the sport,” James wrote.

If things do spark back up, there’s no telling if LeBron will align with his longtime friend of the California-based rapper.
