Baron Corbin was “worried” about working with 2-time WWE champion

Baron Corbin has reinvented himself after a brief run in NXT. The former United States Champion recently opened up about being standoffish after being put in a tag team on WWE SmackDown.

The latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown saw Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews face Angel and Berto in a tag team match. Santos Escobar ensured Angel and Berto would pick up the win by attacking Corbin outside the ring.

While speaking to TV Insider before the contest, The Lone Wolf mentioned how the tag team with two-time WWE champion Apollo Crews came about. He noted that he was not too much in favor of the pairing, especially after working with Bron Breakker in NXT.

“To me, it was wild. I showed up in Scotland [for SmackDown] and they told me I would run out and save Apollo that night. When they told me we were going to be a tag team, I was a little bit standoffish, to be honest. Coming from The Wolf Dogs with Bron Breakker. That was so good and fun. I was worried this team wouldn’t live up to that, but I think people are excited and having fun with that tag team. The fans are getting this new version of me and a fresh version of Apollo. It has been fun. I love Apollo. I think he is one of the best competitors. I look forward to seeing where the team goes,” Baron Corbin said.

Fans seem to be getting behind SmackDown’s new tag team. Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews both needed a fresh start on the main roster, and the new tag team could go all the way and challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship sometime next year.

Baron Corbin compared Taylor Swift to WWE Superstar Roman Reigns

Baron Corbin went viral after he posted a picture with Taylor Swift at a Kansas City Chiefs game last season. The Lone Wolf opened up about his meeting with Swift in his interview with TV Insider.

The former United States Champion was surprised at how humble the 34-year-old singer was. He added that if Roman Reigns did not have an ego backstage in WWE, then no one should.

“To see someone so humble and how they carry themselves. In that way, it’s nice to see. It really teaches you that when people have an ego they shouldn’t. You look at how the biggest star in the world acts. You should be the same. It’s the same reason I say in our locker room that if Roman Reigns doesn’t have an ego, nobody on this roster should. He is the standard at the top,” Baron Corbin said.

Comparing Taylor Swift and Roman Reigns is a wild thing to do. However, Baron Corbin made sense of it by noting how the two biggest names in their respective industries remained humble even after achieving so much success.
