If Manchester United are to compete for major honors in the coming years, they have been advised to build their team around Bruno Fernandes.
If Manchester United wants to hang onto Bruno Fernandes, they might have to give him a better contract.
After acquiring the Portuguese international from Sporting Clube de Portugal in January 2020, the Reds are keen to hold onto him. Fernandes is prepared to leave United if they decide they no longer need his services, despite being one of the team’s few successful moves.
With United, the 29-year-old is currently bound by a contract that is reportedly earning £230,000 a week through 2026. He has, however, witnessed players like Raphael Varane, Casemiro, and Marcus Rashford secure contracts that are higher than his own in recent years.
It is predicted that in their first summer under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s tutelage, United will restructure their roster. After the season, Fernandes is expected to meet with the club’s management to consider his future.
In these negotiations, he is thought to be in a powerful position. Before traveling to Portugal for Euro 2024, he would prefer to resolve his future, and he does not want constant rumors to take his focus away from competing in the competition.
“I feel like the club wants me to be a part of the future, so, as I said always, I don’t want to be a player that the club doesn’t want to have,” Fernandes responded when asked about his future. I will leave if they don’t want me for any reason, but I will stay if they do.”
